PORT ST. LUCIE — The Port St. Lucie Soccer Club and partner  are hosting a special player I.D. camp for those players that want the chance to showcase their talents.
A few players who demonstrate elevated soccer skills will be selected to attend a national camp being held in Rome, Ga., during the summer of 2012. Players who excel at the national camp may be selected to go to England and train at the West Ham Academy for 10 days. This is truly a chance of a lifetime to get noticed and train with some of the best players around the country and world.
The camp will be run by the West Ham Academy staff, and there will be a coaches clinic for those who want to learn the West Ham way.
The camp has been moved to April 27th,28th & 29th; times for each age group will be listed on the West Ham site.

Port St. Lucie Soccer Club TOPS (The Outreach Program for Soccer) has had a very positive response with the kids and parents in our first sessions. The Program has been featured in the St. Lucie News / Tribune, the Hometown News and WPSL radio. The program currently at 67 players is thriving with more families hoping to join. The club was looking at ways to give back to our community and discovered the TOPS Soccer program which is dedicated solely to players with special needs and disabilities.  What better way to be active then through soccer and for kids that might not ever really get a chance to experience it’s true beauty. The program helps motivate the players to do things that they may not get the chance to do, some players have never worn a uniform nor had the feeling of being part of a team / organization.

For the young volunteers, many of whom currently play soccer with the Port St. Lucie Soccer Club or our neighbor’s Mako, the TOPS program gives them the chance to give back to the community as becoming “Buddies” to the players. Friendships are formed with the players and the true sense of the word “Community” is expressed by everyone looking at the program as a way to include all players regardless of abilities the chance to play. We would like to thank all those involved in volunteering many hours and participants for enjoying the program. The team selection process is based upon player evaluation so please attend as many sessions as possible. Being selected to a team is solely based upon the players performance and skill level, players that have already played on a team this past season still need to attend the try-outs in order to make the selection process fair. Not being selected to a team does not mean that the player is not qualified to play to the competitive level and is encouraged to continue developing his / her skills and come back again for another try-out in the future. The goal of the Port St. Lucie Soccer Club / West Ham is to field the best teams and encourage the future development of it’s players to perform at the highest level. When attending the try-outs please make sure that he / she is in soccer attire including shin guards and has a ball and water.

This program is FREE to any family that has a child with special needs and or disabilities. This program is available to players ages 5-19 and all abilities. Season begins on September 8th and runs through December 2nd. Sessions will be on Saturdays from 5:00PM to 6:30PM at Swan Park.We are accepting applications from anyone that would like to be a volunteer and Buddy. If you are interested please contact Karen Dunn – karen.dunn13@gmail.com or Steve Gitlin – nolifelines@aol.com for details, we are offering volunteer hours for all H.S. Buddies.

TOPS (The Outreach Program for Soccer) was formed 12 years ago through our governing body FYSA (Florida Youth Soccer Association). The program was established to give players with disabilities the chance to get an introduction into the sport of soccer. A few clubs have made the transition into including the TOPS program to their curriculum with much success. We felt it was time to offer this great program to the families of the St. Lucie County Community and branch out to other communities so everyone has the chance to have a soccer experience. The program is set up where players can interact with others and receive guidance and support from a Buddy. The Buddy is a trained volunteer that will work with the player one on one each week to instill confidence and a feeling of belonging to a team. The games are designed so everyone can be successful and the players will be placed in a fun and safe environment. The program is FREE so we are always looking for support from local businesses through sponsorships and or donations.

Below is some information for you about the programs and more information will be given to you at the parents meeting.
Registration Fee:
Micro – U8 = $99.00
U10-U12 = $109.00
U14 – High School =$119.00
Fee includes: uniform, referee fees, registration to FYSA, training and for U10-H.S. entry into the World Cup Tournament.
Draft Day for U10 – High School will be on Saturday Sept. 10th
U10 Boys & Girls will be from 9:00 – 10:00
U12 Boys & Girls will be from 10:30 – 11:30
U14 Boys & Girls will be from 12:00 – 1:00
High School will be from 1:30 – 2:30
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for check in. Make sure your child is in proper soccer attire – Cleats, Shin Guards, Ball, Happy Smile.
Players will be selected by the coaches and you will be notified before the parent meeting.
U8 and Micro players do not have to attend the Draft Day, they are automatically selected to a team and you will meet your coach at the parent meeting.
Sept. 16th parents meeting / meet the coaches at the Community Center on Airoso Blvd across from City Hall.
Times are as follows :
Micro and U8 6-7:00
U10-U12 7-8:00
U14-HS 8-9:00
In-House Season starts for U8 on Saturday Sept 24th and ends Dec 3rd
Micro Program will run Oct. 3rd – Dec 10th
U10 through High School will compete in the Treasure Coast Soccer League. The teams will have 5 Home games and 5 Away games. Teams will play against Jensen Beach, Stuart, Hobe Sound, Jupiter teams and they should be gender specific except for H.S. where it will probably be co-ed.
TCSL starts Oct. 1st-2nd and end Dec. 10th-11th / Dec. 17th -18th will be the semi-finals for the end of season tournament and the finals will be held on Jan 7th-8th.
